“OUR KIDS” CELEBRITY PUTTING CONTEST
In July 2002, GIANT Super Food Store held the first annual “Our Kids” Celebrity Putting Contest, featuring media celebrities paired with children who have benefited from the Children’s Miracle Network. Each celebrity/child pair was recognized by GIANT Super Food Store with a donation of $100 in their name. Additional donations were made for first and second place in the contest. The 2004 Putting Contest raised $2,450!STOCK MARKET GAME™
GIANT Super Food Store has joined Economics PA to help integrate economics into existing school curriculum by sponsoring economic activities such as The Stock Market Game™. The GIANT Food Stores Center for Economic Education at Harrisburg High School, serves middle and high schools in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Perry, and York counties.LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL SPONSORSHIP IN 2004
Our goal through the sponsorships of little leagues is to improve consumers awareness of GIANT’s involvement in communities in which we have stores. Sponsorships included: renaming of fields "GIANT Super Food Store Field", GIANT’s logo on uniforms, scoreboards and outfield fence signs. GIANT’s sponsored over 60 little leagues, this is not including the number of girls softball teams, high school baseball/softball teams and midget football team. Other forms of sponsorship included GIANT’s gift cards and napkins. The following are just a few of the major sponsorship GIANT Super Food Store provided this year.
Hampden Youth Baseball Association:
Team sponsorship/outfield fence signs and a new scoreboard. The new scoreboard has not yet been installed but will be here before the end of this season.
Silver Springs Baseball Association:
New scoreboard, outfield fence sign and team sponsorship. The unveiling of the new scoreboard took place June 19th. Morgan Schreiber store manager #5 attended the presentation.
Chambersburg Little League:
Scoreboard sponsorship. Opening day Terry Hull the store manager at #52 was present to throw in the first pitch.
